Weekly Devotional - Week 20, 2006 - Trust in the Lord

Scripture:  (5) Trust in the LORD with all your heart

       and lean not on your own understanding;

            (6) in all your ways acknowledge him,

       and he will make your paths straight.

  Proverbs 3:5-6

Application: The end of the school year is quickly approaching.  You are no doubt looking ahead to what you have planned for the summer. But before you dive into summer, you have some things that you have to take care of first.  Right now you are probably wondering what is this referring too. Well what about all of those projects or homework assignments you have yet to complete?  I know that most of you have done a good job of keeping up, but I also know that some of you have not.  What I do know is that all of us can by applying the message of the verse, rely on God for help.  Spend time this week and pray about the things you have left to do on your completion list.  Ask God to help you work on completing those tasks.  When you do this, you will find that you will have a new understanding and a new enthusiasm for accomplishing the obstacles in your path to a well deserved summer break.

Quote: I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.

--Mother Teresa (1910 - 1997)

Prayer: Dear God, help me to trust in You for the patience needed to face the obstacles in my path.  Amen
